Call Me Absurd

UM, speaking of Thabo, I just discovered this little bit of videographic genius. Some European sports channel had the brilliant idea to follow Thabo throughout this Spurs-Thunder matchup and develop a whole game-by-game feature out of it. They literally called the series “FOLLOW THABO.” It exists purely to stalk Thabo’s beautiful face in the playoffs and then feature that face speaking to us entirely in French. HELLO.

Episode I above, Episodes II and III here. AND SO MUCH MORE TO COME. As a bonus, we get to see an inside look at the Thunder team in general, plus a lot of French jesting with Serge Ibaka. WHO COULD ASK FOR ANYTHING MORE.

The Fine Utility of Thabo Sefolosha

  • me:
  • the game tonight was great
  • and thabo scored a ton of points!
  • for like the first time in his life
  • friend:
  • I KNOW
  • I was like "yes! you have utility and fineness!"
  • me:
  • HAHA
  • two excellent qualities in a man

UHMAYZING Thunder-Spurs preview video, set to “Angels and Stars” (Eric Turner / Lupe Fiasco). Conference finals ahoy!

I just realized that today marks the 10-year anniversary of the Robert Horry shot.

THE. Robert. Horry. Shot.

It deserves a video shoutout at the very least.

Also, MAN do I miss these days. The Lakers were just as dysfunctional, but managed to channel that into wins and/or championships. Not to mention, Fisher my love was still with us, AND we had Mark “Mad Dog” Madsen for a team mascot. Plus, this shot / moment / era just reminds me of the good ole’ middle school days (specifically, geometry, because I distinctly remember “studying” for my geometry “final” while this particular game was playing on TV in the background - which led to most of my mental space during my actual geometry final that week being occupied by victorious chants of “HORRY! HORRY! HORRY!”)

Just your typical National Geographic photoshoot with Shaq and a mouse lemur. I REPEAT, A MOUSE LEMUR. NAMED FUGGLES (!!!!!!!).

Also, the degree to which the photographer gets into this is hilarious.

Rondo’s falling assist from Game 5 - NICE. With some bonus Celtics bench flexing. But seriously now, HOW have the Celtics let this series get to a Game 7?!
