Call Me Absurd

The Rock’s big girly monologue

I got an email over the weekend from someone seeking assistance in writing a massive piece on Southland Tales, and it reminded me how much I love Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as a comic character actor. I might write an entire piece about the man’s overlooked comic genius, but in the meantime, enjoy this clip of him performing a “monologue” from Bring It On in the woefully misguided Get Shorty sequel Be Cool. The movie is all kinds of awful, but boasts an amazing performance from Johnson, who is the man even when his films are crazy misguided or just plain terrible. —Nathan Rabin

This is easily one of the best things I have ever seen.

Don’t ask me how I got to liking these monochrome pantsuit ensembles from the Akris Resort 2014 collection. It just…happened.

From Vie Privee, I think? It’s too bad that that movie is so badly filmed as to make gifs from it practically meaningless… she was so beautiful in that period, and so wonderfully dressed!

I adore every single thing about this look on Brigitte. HOT. Menswear as womenswear should be more of a thing than it is nowadays, beyond the actual runway. View Larger

Is it Arbitrary Nastia Flashback Time? Why, I do believe it is. The Face she gives at the start of this Dark Eyes routine is SO KILLER.
